Tutoring Session #10
My tenth tutoring session was with Yun-Jung on 11/26 at CIES. We started off our session by having a casual conversation about Thanksgiving break. I talked about working Black Friday, and Yun-Jung talked about going to Disney World with her family. After the conversation, Yun-Jung surprisingly didn’t have any material she wanted to work on, so I decided to pull up a list of common idioms and test her knowledge. She actually had never heard a majority of them. To name a few, we went over terms like “devil’s advocate”, “at the drop of a hat”, and “best of both worlds”. Honestly, some of these phrases are hard to explain, but I think she grasped them at the end of the session.
