My third conversation partner session was a bit different than the other conversation partner meetings I had previously had. For this session, I once more spoke with Randy Cantillo, however, this time we spoke over the phone. It was unorthodox for the both of us, but we were both determined to make it work. We were both interested in having a discussion. During the conversation we spoke about what we would be doing for the Thanksgiving break. I told him that I would be returning home, to Miami. Meanwhile, Randy mentioned that he would be staying in Tallahassee for the break. He mentioned that while it would be nice to see his family, he is glad that he has friends in Tallahassee with whom he can share the holiday. One thing I specifically remember from our conversation was that he asked me what I was doing at the moment, I mentioned to him that I was looking over some homework. I asked him the same question and he said, “now I am washing some clothes.” I mentioned to him that while the sentence he said was not necessarily wrong, he should have used another transition phrase or word. He should have said something more along the lines of “at the moment,” “currently,” or “right now.” I mentioned that these phrases and words would sound much more natural.
