On October 31, 2018, I observed Felicia Ciappetta's 10 AM Grammar Class for Group 3A. The topic of the class was adverbs of manner, degree, and frequency. Professor Ciappetta directed the class from a circle and instructed everyone to pair up to complete the review questions from their text for the previous lesson on perfect continuous tense. Every person had to demonstrate understanding by practicing aloud to the class. Professor Ciappetta would address any errors first by asking the student to try again and then by correcting them if necessary. She also would have to answer questions related to the topic and produce examples quickly to meet the students' needs. The only supplies needed were the textbooks and writing materials. All of the students participated, but some were shy and quiet. I learned that I need to be able to answer questions at a moment's notice and know my topic and the skill thoroughly before teaching.
